This project for the Chicago Hellenic Museum and Cultural Center incorporates Museum, Gallery, Auditorium, Office, and Meeting spaces. Its strong binuclear organization features drum and slab forms. Classic principles of composition are expressed in the Center's three-part composition of base, middle, and top; its strong patterns of light and shadows; and the geometric clarity of its form. A highly figural building, the design addresses both the corner of its block and the scale of the city, including the enormous Sears Tower visible to the east.
