The new 42,000 square foot Operations and Maintenance Building replaces a more than 90-year-old building that had long become obsolete. It supports a major wastewater treatment plant along the Fox River valley serving 131 square miles. The design provides multiple shop spaces for all building trades responsible for its 24/7 operations together with support space for staff and administrative personnel. The head end control room allows remote operation of all plant systems using supervisory control and data acquisition systems. The original stone entry arch feature from the original building was carefully salvaged and re-installed as a focal feature of the new building exterior to celebrate the proud history of the facility.
