Cordogan Clark was invited to submit a comprehensive plan for Jinan, China. This plan was prepared to use planning as an economic catalyst for development, and to guide future development. This plan focused on key aspects including: Sustainability; Access and Circulation; Variety and Choice; Harmony and Balance; Incentives to renew declining areas; Planning for continuous change; Incorporating density and height; Regional identity and "sense of place." This plan was an early stage in reaching an optimum balance that creates a well-functioning urban environment with a strong, memorable, and appealing image, that also pays enough attention to detail and human scale.
